The Inspiration Behind Our Dubai Style Crispy Pistachio Flavor
If you’ve scrolled TikTok or Instagram lately, chances are you’ve seen it: Dubai chocolate 🍫✨ It’s the yummy pistachio-stuffed, over-the-top chocolate bar that went from a tiny dessert shop in UAE to a now worldwide obsession almost overnight! Countless videos of people breaking open its glossy shell to reveal gooey pistachio cream have gained millions of views, and the hype is still going strong.
The story of Dubai chocolate is almost as fun as the treat itself. It was first created in 2022 by Sarah Hamouda of FIX Dessert Chocolatier in Dubai, who wanted something special to satisfy her pregnancy cravings. She combined milk chocolate with pistachio cream, tahini, and crunchy knafeh pastry, and called it Can’t Get Knafeh of It. A year later, one TikTok review by creator Maria Vehera went absolutely viral (100M+ views 😲) and suddenly, what started in one small shop became *the* dessert everyone was talking about. Supermarkets, chocolatiers, and even big brands are racing to make their own versions!
Sooo why all the hype? Well, the gooey pistachio cream looks amazing on camera, the knafeh adds that perfect crunch, and honesty, it’s just fun! Add in Dubai’s reputation for luxury and over-the-top treats, and it’s no wonder that the chocolate naturally went viral! People online even joke that it single-handedly caused a global pistachio shortage 🤣
The fact that Dubai Chocolate went viral also taps into something bigger. A lot of us want flavors that feel fresh but still have a sense of history behind them. Ingredients like pistachios, rose, and cardamom have been part of Middle Eastern desserts for centuries, and when you mix them with chocolate, you get something that’s both familiar and totally new!
That’s what inspired us when we set out to make our Crispy Pistachio flavor! We wanted that same mix of silkiness + crunch, but in a way that feels true to us: real ingredients, less sugar, and flavors you actually want to snack on every day🥰 Ours may not come wrapped in gold foil, but it does capture a little of the spirit that made Dubai chocolate go viral in the first place!
